        The Southern Rural Transportation Center programs address the need to improve the quality of life for small and rural communities in South Carolina and the Southern United States (17 states and Puerto Rico); provide an environment to conduct cutting edge rural transportation research, technology transfer activities, and education and training programs; and focus on initiatives to advance transportation policy and evaluation, develop future transportation leaders, devise new systems and solutions that benefit the rural and small communities of South Carolina, the Southern United States, and the Nation.
